A Center for Advanced Invertebrate Cell Culture and Cell Engineering
A center for advanced invertebrate cell culture and cell engineering was founded and endowed by Boyce Thompson Institute (BTI) at Cornell University and Qingdao Agricultural University (QAU) in 2007, and was authorized by Department of Science and Technology of Shandong Province in 2011. This center will establish a framework for a cooperative program on studies of invertebrate cells and development of new cell lines and technologies, and will promote and develop academic and scientific relationships in support of collaborative research activities. This center is supported by a research team comprised of dedicated and highly skilled researchers from global academic/research community, faculty, and students. The center has the complete infrastructure and advanced equipment, and has presided over and participated eight projects from National Natural Science Foundation of China, two international cooperation projects and the sub-project of National Basic Research program of China since 2005. Over the past ten years, the center has published more than 100 academic papers and has granted seven patents.
